How does Turkish City Pop sound? Peki Momés and her band are answering this question with their debut album, out on September 12, 2025.

Producer Dustin Braun and Peki Momés only started working together in 2024. They gathered the finest young musicians roaming Leipzig’s jazz scene to record the album, which is now out on Hamburg's home of groove, Mocambo Records. Live, they perform as a five-piece, featuring the same band.

Drawing on influences from rare Anatolian psychedelia to Brazilian Boogie and Japanese pop, they’ve crafted a dozen mesmerizing songs that weave lush guitars, cosmic synths and jazzy flute stabs around Peki’s haunting voice.

Both their debut 7" singles, “Göç Mevsimi” and “Yildiz (Estrelar)”, quickly sold out and have already been played by none other than Iggy Pop and Coco María on BBC 6 and NTS.
